The Mountain View Connection Concert Series and Lougheed House present mezzo-soprano Stephania Romaniuk, one of Calgary’s most promising young artists in recital. The concert takes place at the Lougheed House on June 12 and 13, 2016, at 7:30 pm.

CPO violinist Donovan Seidle, emerging musicians, violinist Lev Nesterov, violist Osmond Chiu and cellist Olena Kilchyk will join pianist Kathleen van Mourik in the brilliant Piano Quintet by Frank Bridge. Artistic Directors Charles Foreman and Kathleen van Mourik will accompany Stephania Romaniuk.

The concert features songs and chamber music by Debussy, Rodrigo, Samuel Barber, and Handel.

Tickets are $40 (adults), $30 (students/seniors/members) and are available at Lougheed House, or may be reserved in advance by phoning the Mountain View Connection at 403-240-4174 or via e-mail at mvfest@telus.net. FREE ADMISSION for children 12 and under!

Performances of the complete Beethoven sonatas are very rare – few pianists have the time or the inclination to tackle such a monumental journey.

Pianist Charles Foreman is completing the 32 Piano Sonatas of Beethoven Series for the second time and the ninth and final concert of the series will take place on Saturday, May 28th at Christ Church Elbow Park.

This recital will present Beethoven’s last piano sonata – Sonata No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111, Sonata No. 12 in A-flat major (“Funeral March”), and more.

Pianist Charles Foreman is only two concerts away from completing the 32 Piano Sonatas of Beethoven Series! The eighth of nine-concert series will take place on Saturday, April 16th at Christ Church Elbow Park.

This recital will present Beethoven’s famous “Pathétique” Sonata. This sonata was Beethoven’s first real “hit” and it has continued to capture listeners’ hearts for over 200 years.

Also on the programme is his second last sonata – Sonata No. 31 in A-flat major, Op. 110.

Pianist Charles Foreman continues The 32 Piano Sonatas of Beethoven Series on Saturday, February 27th at Christ Church Elbow Park.

The seventh recital presents Beethoven’s famous “Moonlight” Sonata. This piece is one of Beethoven’s most popular piano works, and it was a popular favorite even in his own day.

Also on the programme is his Sonata No. 11 in B-flat major, Op. 22 – one of Beethoven’s own favourite sonatas.
